What is a dental hygienist?
This person is a health professional who provides treatment for existing gum disease, helps prevent oral diseases and help you maintain an optimum level of oral health.
Dental on Raffles puts huge emphasis on this aspect of dentistry as it is the most often neglected part of dental care by our patients.
The main reason patients don’t look after gum health is because there is no pain until it is too late. Up to 60% of teeth lost over the age of 40years is from gum disease (periodontal). So it is definitely very important that gum care is carried out.
Recent Review – I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to Marie for working her magic on my teeth today. They have NEVER EVER felt so clean! What an amazing feeling to have each and everyone of my teeth beautifully polished and cared for. AMAZING!! I can honestly say I have never experienced anything like it before. I will be recommending her to all of my friends and family.Thank you so much!
Dental on Raffles FAQ – Excuse me if I sound silly but what exactly gets done at a dental hygienist appointment? Dental on Raffles – No, that’s ok. I wondered the same before I had it done. Every single tooth that you have gets thoroughly cleaned and polished. It is an amazing feeling! A dental surgeon generally fixes your broken tooth or tooth ache etc but a Dental Hygienist is purely there to clean your teeth. Marie is very good at her job and and will also give you some great advice on what you need to do to continue to care and look after your teeth. Or she’ll recommend products that you may need to use. I highly recommend it! Hope that helps 🙂
