Dr. Paola Fenton is a highly skilled general and cosmetic dentist renowned for her compassionate, patient-centered care. Since 2015, she has proudly served the Hawkes Bay community, drawing on her extensive experience from practices in the UK and Australia. Originally from Colombia, Paola graduated with honors in Dentistry and now calls New Zealand her permanent home.

Her meticulous attention to detail and precision in treatment planning ensure that patients receive both functional and aesthetically pleasing results.

As a SMART-Certified dentist through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, Paola specializes in safe amalgam removal. Additionally, as a certified Myobrace provider, she focuses on non-invasive orthodontic care for children, addressing myofunctional and oral health concerns early to promote alignment and overall well-being without the need for braces whenever possible, tailoring each approach to the individual case.

I am originally from Sweden but have made NZ my home. I love what NZ has to offer in the way of outdoor activities as mountain biking is a big part of my life. I previously worked at Dental on Raffles as a dental assistant for 7 years before I decided to study Bachelor of Oral Health in Otago.

I was fortunate to get this great opportunity to come back to work in this awesome dental practice as a qualified Dental Hygienist/Therapist. I chose this career because I believe having a healthy mouth is an important part of our overall well-being and being able to help people achieve this is fantastic.

As you can see I am no newcomer to Dentistry having a career spanning almost 40 years. Time has not diminished my passion for this challenging and dynamic profession. I am absolutely enthused over the modern advances that help me deliver a standard of workmanship we could only dream about a few years ago.

I am a GP Dentist with special interests in reconstruction of broken down and lost teeth with crowns, bridges, veneers and implants. When not looking into mouths I love nothing more than to go sea kayaking or hiking.

Brought up in Wairoa, I first graduated as a microbiologist from Massey University in 1975. When a good friend suggested I should join him in Dental school I started talking to a few dentists. I soon realised I had found my calling and my life career.

From my times as House surgeon, I retained my interest in paediatric, special needs dentistry and minor surgery (e.g. Wisdom teeth). I now contract to “Mobile Surgical Services” around 6 times a year, carrying out these procedures on the Mobile Surgical Bus in Wairoa.

What attracted me to this practice is that Gary Winter has kept his equipment, materials and techniques right up-to-date and he has the same passion and drive for excellence in dentistry I have.
